Alpha HEAVY is the same as Alpha, but about 2.5 pounds! Switching from aluminum to steel plates for the top and bottom has allowed for more secure magnetic attachment, stiffer enclosure feel, and a nicer weight for lap play. You're gonna go ape for it!

Alpha is SGF's first full redesign of our popular, easy-to-travel-with leverless controller. Every design element has been reconsidered and rebuilt from the ground up, to provide the most comfortable and customizable experience possible.
Never-Before-Seen Materials and Techniques
SGF Alpha HEAVY's top and bottom surface are steel plates held firm to the base frame with magnetic monkey magic. The edges, integrated strap rings and interior case "skeleton" are made of laser-sintered PA12 nylon, the same material used to make bodies for power tools, so it's incredibly durable
Alpha comes with SGF MonKeys button caps, available in your choice of surface profiles. Each button sits inside a custom RGB-backlit button enclosure with a raised bevel around the button, for a premium arcade-style look and glowing RGB "halo" lighting. All nylon parts are media blasted for a satin finish unlike anything else in the FGC: smooth but not glossy; textured but not rough or scratchy.

Cross Compatibility and Customization
SGF Alpha HEAVY features an optional RGB-backlit PCB similar to our FAUST model controllers. Under the hood you'll find the latest GP2040-CE firmware powering lightning-quick inputs with less input delay than other leading competitors, and extensive RGB customization options. Alpha HEAVY is compatible with a wide range of devices and consoles, and also features a passthru USB port for authenticating your controller on PS5 and Xbox One X|S. A tournament lockout switch is also included, to avoid accidental pause button DQ's during competitive play.

We're proud to provide the best long-term customer protection and support in the FGC. Unlike cheaper alternatives that leave players high and dry when something goes wrong, we support the SGF Fam long after the first purchase. SGF Alpha HEAVY is built with long-term growth and support in mind: you shouldn't have to buy a new controller to change things up.
Want to add a few extra buttons? Saw a new layout online that you want to try? The apes in the SGF science kitchen are cooking up new PCBs, new button layouts, and new control styles. New hardware features added to Alpha HEAVY will be available to all previous Alpha HEAVY owners, with new layouts and formats planned as full controllers and expansion kits for existing controllers. No tools, no firmware flashes: pop the top off, drop the new mod in, and you're good to go.

I'm loving this controller, it feels natural in every game I've tried it in. Its a great size for my desk, I'm able to comfortably keep it and my keyboard with plenty of still open space. The creators were kind enough to email me on a delay on components for the controller asking if I wanted a refund. The extra Laffy taffy was a nice surprise, my girlfriend loved it. The carrying case is amazing as well. Lastly, my friends hate this new controller, my half circle inputs are a split second and its ruining their lives.

The price and quality are amazing! My brother is jealous of how much better the weight of the Alpha Heavy feels on your lap compared to his regular Alpha, and we both agree that the brown switches feel and sound great.
There are many colour and lighting options to customize the controller to your liking. Because of the online-accessible GP2040-CE Admin Interface, I have my LED's colour-coordinated to reflect my layout for GGST while I adjust.
SGF's Customer Service is amazing! Big thanks to Matt for answering all of my myriad questions, and for helping to re-insert my buttons when they were knocked out during delivery! (It even arrived a day early)
I'm really loving this thing. It's my first leverless purchase, and I'm glad I got it from SGF because of the service. Matt is active on the discord and always communicating with customers on even the littlest questions.
The included instructions make it clear that this is a product for enthusiasts. They want you to experiment with button remapping and even modding this thing. It's built to be taken apart, put back together, repeat. Glad I have the option to keep this thing around for a long time even if I want changes.
