MonKey B.U.T.T.s Instruction Manual

Note: Not recommended for use with NACON Daija.

Many moons ago, apes learned to use tools. Then many moons later, 3D printers. Now the apes have mastered magic: we’re turning DUST and LASERS into BUTTONS for your CONTROLLER.

SGF MonKey B.U.T.T.s (Button, Universal, Top Tier) are the next evolution of our award-winning* MonKey button caps. Each MonKey B.U.T.T. includes a body, retention ring, and cap that are laser-sintered from durable PA-12 nylon -- the same material used to make power tools -- as well as a noise dampening o-ring, Kailh Choc switch, and a custom PCB to interface between the switch and your favorite PCB.

The MonKey B.U.T.T.s are available in two sizes:

  • 30mm - a drop-in replacement for Sanwa OBSF-30 sized buttons
  • 24mm - a drop-in replacement for Sanwa OBSF-24 sized buttons

Switches are available in 3 options -- see our switch product page for info on each.

Caps/plungers are available in three distinct surface styles:

  • Flat, like the 🦧 original Flatbox style buttons
  • Convex, similar to Japanese 🇯🇵 Arcade buttons
  • Concave, similar to American 🇺🇸 Arcade buttons

Flex your custom controller with a sharp set of Dressed Up B.U.T.T.s in any solid color (or a full art print on your cap). Or show off a set of Nekkid MonKey B.U.T.T.s - all-natural, raw laser-sintered plastic goodness.

Some of the best arcade/fight stick buttons you can buy right now

These buttons are so unique. They are made in the US and are high quality nylon 3D prints (better than typical consumer prints) that impart a great matte texture. They are designed to use with low profile Choc V2 switches and don't add any other mechanism to its function. What you hear and feel is the tactility of the switch. They are very quiet compared to typical OEM injection molded plastic arcade buttons. I highly recommend making at least 1 build using these buttons, you won't be disappointed.

Best buttons

I’ve tried just about every button on the market worth trying, these feel the best. Nothing else to say. Get some! Also it came with a laffy taffy.

Great feel and sound

The buttons I ordered are the best suited to my preferences more than any button I've tried. (Sanwa, GF, Crown, qanba stock)

The feedback is great, the low profile tactile switches have a short and obvious actuation point. (vs a normal linear mx switch like speed silver) The Glossy texture I selected is nice as well. (really wanna try nekkid)
When pressed they produce a satisfying sound regardless of force used.

sanwas sound nice, but the higher pitch button smack that provides the physical feedback isn't great for late night gaming. gamerfingers are so quiet they leave an unpleasant ringing in your case when the buttons are released.

Overall definitely a solid button, good stuff sgf.

Awesomes buttons

Great buttons, are small in size, so great for small cases. Easy to swap switches and caps.

10/10 Buttons

Quite literally the best button you can get if you want a LP footprint. They sound and feel great, and Matt can make them whatever color you want!
