2025 and Beyond
Dec 28, 2024
Hey Fam, how's it going?
2024 was a slow year for SGF (and gaming as an industry). I'm committed to keeping SGF strong and stable to weather the storm. While things have always been run lean, there's still ways to cut costs. However, given the international trade policy outlook for the US in 2025, based on the data we have as of now, it's likely but not guaranteed that we will have to increase prices in 2025.
In an effort to keep prices as low as possible, SGF will be temporarily closing to relocate to a place with lower fixed costs starting Dec 30, 2024. During this time, all products on the website will go to Out Of Stock status. All orders placed before midnight CT on Dec 30, 2024 will be processed without change. More details on timing for re-opening will be shared as they become available.
Customer support and service will continue uninterrupted during the relocation. SGF's first priority will always be customers, so please don't hesitate to reach out for any help needed even when the store is out of inventory.
Depending on how quickly trade policy changes and to what degree, this could mean that the end of 2024 is the final time to certain products at existing prices. While I make everything I can myself here in the USA, there are some things that simply must be imported and are not available domestically. Largely these are electronic components. Based on this forecast, SGF may expect to see a tariff increase of 60-80% or more on imported electronic components. Should this come to pass, retail prices of products implementing these parts will likely need to increase significantly in order to cover these costs, before even accounting for associated inflation in other areas due to the cascading effects.
I know this is inconvenient, but SGF is dedicated to making sure that you are able to shop for the holidays and receive continued support for your products for the lowest prices possible even during this transition period. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out via any means -- email, social media, etc.
Thank you for your support and the amazing opportunity to make products for you. I deeply appreciate it. Love and support your community, and SGF will keep doing the same.

I was initially very hesitant to get a more expensive controller and decided to go with SGF. I was pleasantly surprised with both the product, as well as the support I received from the seller. Fantastic communication and quality assurance.

Love these switches! I originally got them thinking they would help with simultaneous button inputs in Tekken. They didn't, but they did help me with hitting my buttons softer which is way nicer on my fingers.
Also they just feel great to use!
This controller accomplished everything I sought out for. The button layout feels great, the color and quality of the build is great, and the price was right. Excited to continue using it with different games for the foreseeable future!
EDIT: After posting this review, I was contacted by SGF and they offered to custom print a new set of buttons with the colours redone free of charge, all I had to cover was the shipping. They sent me photos of a few test prints and let me choose which ones I wanted then shipped them out to me. One Canada Post strike later, they arrived and they are now exactly what I was hoping for. Excellent customer service all around, thanks SGF!

Picked up a full set for my Kitsune and got green buttons for directions and pink for action buttons as I was hoping to go for a Astro City inspired look. While the caps themselves feel and perform great, the colors are much more pale/pastel than the photos would suggest so they're not that punchy neon I was going for. While far from being a deal breaker, it is keeping me from being 100% satisfied with the purchase.
Changing the art plates is so simple an ape can do it.
I went with the selective gloss option and both front and back came out gorgeous. I love this company so much and will always look for them for my gaming needs.
The moment I pulled it out of the box I had a vision of a better future: a future where everything is covered in PA-12 nylon.
If you have ever played around with premium buttons like Buttercade's butterfingas, ENTH KRMs, or SGF MonKeys or SGF MonKey B.U.T.T.S., then you already know what this texture is like. Delightful material. It is durable and lightweight. I am tempted to replace all of my dust washers. The larger size fits perfectly over a JLF shaft cover or a Phreakmodz link.
I've tried this on a Qanba Gravity lever, a JLF, and an SELS-70X. On the gravity lever and the JLF I had a blast! Using it at first is a bit of a mind warp, this isn't your grandpa's topper.
It's quite fun to just swivel it from side to side, whether or not you're doing fighting game inputs. But if you want to stop it swiveling you can tighten your grip a bit. Fixed shafts like the SELS-70X might take a bit of effort to keep from coming unscrewed.
After I was done playing (had stuff to do), I felt the topper calling out to me. I just want to go back and use it again.
Mostly because I forgot one button and I didn't want that naked feeling.
Keycaps fit very well. Truly recommend for all players.
I recently acquired the Waffle variant of the SGF Alpha, as I love Waffle House unironically. The buttons themselves are fantastic, the box itself is light and easy to carry, and the cord/carrying case is superb. I can highly recommend this box to anyone who needs one. 5/5.
Kailh Choc Switch Set (12 Switches)
sturdy yet flexible cable. Also, really slick low profile molds on the ports. Cant go wrong.
